Metro DX Club Meeting Sept 21, 2012

Call meeting to order: Bob, K9CJ called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM CDT.

Al Keck, W9YYG is in Silver Cross Hospital . All members are invited to call him.

      Picnic Thanks

Bob, K9CJ thanked everyone for the picnic. Everyone agreed it was a good time.

       Approve old meeting minutes

Bob K9CJ moved to approve the July meeting minutes. K9PY seconded; Motion passed.

       Treasurers Report

W9ILY gave the Treasurer’s Report:

  Bob K9CJ expressed thanks to everyone for the picnic. There were a number of favorable comments.

New business:

       Start thinking about Nominations for club officers

Nominations are needed for President and VP during October meeting with the election in November.

       Parties and Events

There will be a Christmas Party. Start thinking about restaurant suggestions.

       DX Code of Conduct  and short video

Phil N9LAH showed the Code on the screen. After discussion WF9V moved that Metro support it. K9BWQ seconded the motion. The motion passed; W9ILY will notify the clubs support of the code.

       WUST Award Update

WUST Award: John W9ILY presented the WUST Award report. WUST award applications were distributed at W9DXCC.

       Metro Challenge and Diamond DXCC updates

Phil N9LAH and John W9ILY reported on the Metro Challenge and Diamond DXCC competition.

        Up coming Contests

John W9ILY reported that the CQWW RTTY contest is 9/29/12 and 9/30/12.

        General Discussions

W9ILY noted that our club name has been included on the www.qth.com page as a club whose web site is provided by qth.com.
